That’s so intense! 42!

Yesterday I went to Jacky’s birthday party, which is where the first part of my title comes from (explanation later) and, of course, today is 10/10/10, which is 42 in binary.

Jacky’s birthday was a last minute decision on my behalf, and it was a great decision actually! Mandy gave me a ride to Jacky’s place, and we had finger food at his really awesome house. Played pool for a bit, and then watched Annie and Anna make Jacky a last minute card. They drew Jacky is a balding man with blue eyelashes and full red lips. I gave him sleazy eyebrows.

Clare got a Blackberry! I was really excited because when she gets internet on her Blackberry I can communicate with her with the BBM.

After a while, Clare and I played on Guitar Hero, and sort of did that until Jacky came back bearing lots of pizzas. Had the pizza, then had cake! Jacky took 5 or 6 tries before he managed to blow all the candles out – especially since one re-ignited itself.

Annie and Viv C tried to smother me. Elaine did nothing to help.

Then came the tried-and-true tradition of watching Mandy be a part of Super Mario Bros. Hungy, as Luigi, felt compelled to pick up Mandy’s yellow Toad and throw it into the lava repeatedly.

Then, of course, Mandy played MarioKart. Okay, to be honest, everyone played but Mandy was the loudest and the most INTENSE player. Ad- and I probably came close to bursting a kidney laughing at her intensity. “Move over fatass!”

At a very late point in the night, when a lot of people had gone home, I left with Dorothy and Mandy. I had sore throat from laughing non-stop at Mandy’s intense MarioKart playing.

Alright, so I went to bed at 1 am, ready to pry my eyes open at 8 to meet up with Gil. (Pearl)

I got to the city at around 10:30, having stayed awake on the train with my fantastic Pokemon Yellow. I felt rather cool playing it (on the way home, an Asian guy gave me a smile of approval after seeing my Gameboy). I got to Flinders Street, to find that the crossing to Fed Square was blocked for the marathon. While waiting for Gil to come, I kept an eye out for Steven. It was really…well inspiring is an overused word but, still, you know, inspiring to see all the runners. I saw this really old grandma keep her head down and soldiering on near the end of the run. There were these two girls who dressed in angel wings (sorry I forgot to take a photo) and holding a sign that read “never ever give up”.

Of course, there are douchebags who cut across the path of the runners because they’re too lazy to go down the steps next to the station and come up from under the bridge. Two of them cut across this guy who had pulled a hamstring, and one of them said to the other one (holding a cigarette) “this is just stupid!”

When Gil arrived in her adorable gray beanie (which didn’t give her hat-hair) we went to line up for the tickets to Tim Burton. That itself took over half an hour. Still, it was really great to just chat with her about her cougar-ness. Oh yes. My friends, Gil is a cougar (she can deny it, but it’s true).

The Tim Burton exhibition made me want to just draw again. I used to draw when I’m trying to listen in class – people say I’m distracted but I pay better attention when I’m drawing – but I hardly do that anymore. I guess, though, I actually have to take notes in Uni. I dunno, maybe one day soon I’ll sit myself down away from the laptop and have a bit of a draw. Nothing as fantastically quirky as Burton’s, of course, but I can try.

The Burton version of Hansel and Gretel made Gil and me crack up – because for some reason, the witch was a man, and Hansel and Gretel were Asians in German clothing. That, and the low budget made the overall show hilariously…scary. The talking clown/gingerbread man is sure to give Gil nightmares.

After staying on our feet for nearly 90 minutes, Gil and I decided to have lunch at…Maccas. It was a good thing we went to Maccas to sit down and eat actually, because we ended up talking for about 2-3 hours about Code Geass (because that’s her obsession), Ouran Host, then somehow FRIENDS, and then Simpsons. The table next to us saw 3 different diners come and go, and we still sat there.

When, finally, at around 4, we thought we should go. Still, it was a fantastic way to spend 10/10/10, which by the way is 42, which by the way is the answer to life, universe and everything.

This is…probably not the best photo but yeah, that was the one on my phone. The ones on Pearl’s camera…is on her camera. She’s not online at the moment.

She doesn’t look 20 huh? Old ass.

French Fries For Fingers

Alliteration kicks ass! Or no…alliteration = beastlike rapage ftwinrar!

Yes, this post will be about Dom.

Today I had 1 period. Teachers didn’t show up. Worst waste ever. Dani, Eunice and I went to Dani’s place after P5 ended, and Dani and Eunice went Op-Shopping whilst I went to her apartment to use the bathroom. Etah tried to kill me again.

Anyway, Andrew said do what you want, so I started playing Guitar Hero. I sucked after not playing for so long, and considering I was shit to start with…

Eunice and Dani came back, and Eunice played 2 games with me. Then she left because she needed to go home to make her dress for Bee’s.

Dom came over, but not without difficulty.

Instructions: Take the 112 to West St Kilda, when you see Coles pull the cord. Then call us.

Result: [ring ring]

Me: Hey Dom, where are you?

Dom: I think I missed it.

Me: Did you see Coles?

Dom: I didn’t see Coles.

Me: Where are you?

Dom: On my way to MSAC.

Me: You idiot. Get off, come back.

Dom: Oh I have Google Maps.

Dom came over and I told him to show Andrew how to play Guitar Hero well, because I know Dom is good.

He started on the Expert level.

And he was very, very, very good.

When there was a really really fast mad bit, Andrew Dani and I all turned to look at Dom’s fingers on the guitar neck to see how he does it. Andrew commented that his fingers look like French Fries.

Then, Andrew made the funniest, but rudest comment:

“Holy shit man, you can probably finger-fuck a girl faster than she can blink.”

D.P. came over after she finished her Spesh SAC, and we watched Dom and Andrew play a really hard song, whose name slipped my memory. Andrew was on Easy, Dom was on Expert. Andrew beat Dom. Oh shock. Then Andrew went on Medium. Andrew lost to Dom.

Anyway, I think Dani’s Guitar Hero controller is now well on its way to being broken.

I left them at Domain Interchange, no longer needing to buy things because I borrowed Andrew’s tie.

I tried all the clothes on when I got home. I looked alright. Very much looking forward to Saturday now.

I still need pants to work in.

Alex.

What happened today?

In Periods 3 and 4, Miss Ma- was away so we were meant to do some work but I ended up sneaking out and going to Dani’s place with Dani and D.P. and we played Guitar Hero and Tekken. And D.P. totally cheated by button mashing. And I chose some stupid guy who didn’t do anything but defend. What. The. Fuck. Anyway, got back to school about 5 minutes before lunch started.

Hung out with Carmaine most of lunch and went to Peer Support. Did the Legal SAC which was a 6o minute block of furiously writing what I think the Parliament is doing in Law Making (hoo-ah).

Oh, and I accidentally added Mr G my ex-Legal teacher on my Facebook. Now THAT, as El- put it, was the funniest thing a MacRob chick can do and I did it.

Hoo-ah.

D.F.

What happens in Sale…

Apparently doesn’t stay there. The following are excerpts from the email I wrote to Carmaine about it, because like hell I’m writing it all again:

‘I woke up at 5:50 so I can be in time for the 6:54…

Got to Flinders, was last to get there even though I was actually 10 minutes early… and we got the Vline tickets, and went onto Plat 10 (you know where Sandringham used to leave from) and waited for the Bairnsdale train. Vline trains are pretty comfy (depends on which you get tho’. Some have comfy seat material, some have material that dig into you. Some have aircon…that doesn’t break. Anyway that’s for later). and have six seaters or four seaters. We sat in the six seater and Vania took the only other window seat. The train ride, for 3 hours, wasn’t too bad. It was lengthy, and we passed a couple of cool stations like Garfield. (On the way back, Julia made the joke – you know the Bega ad that goes, “Curtain isn’t famous for curtains” – Julia said, “Garfield isn’t famous…for Garfield…”) and of course we passed Moe, Moh-ee.

We arrived at Sale at past 10. Went to Bel’s house in Sale and put all our stuff down so we could go have lunch without all our bags. Sale is so quiet! But it’s not like Woop Woop or anything. I’d say it’s like a quiet suburb kind of place, because they have the houses and there’s a town center where you have the shopping, and there’s a lake, and an art gallery, and I’m sure a few things I’ve missed. Except Bel was really excited ‘cos they recently got a new Aldi and she’s not been in yet.

We had Maccas for lunch because Julia was craving Cheeseburgers, and been doing so for probably 2 or 3 days prior. Except when we finally got our cheeseburgers, while trying to put fries into the burger, Julia dropped half of her top bun. We went back to a couple of picnic benches in front of Bel’s family’s restaurant (they own about 3 in Sale) and Charlie, Bel’s 3 year old brother, joined us. Because Jen and Julia bought Happy Meals, they had 2 Madagascar toys, and kept on playing with them and they were really really annoying. Jen played guitar for a bit, and Bel fed Charlie, and it was pretty nice sitting under the shade and just relaxing, storing energy for later that day.

After lunch, we walked Charlie to a nearby lake and we sat on the bank while Jen kept on playing guitar (she’s really dedicated). But when Jen got a mozzie bite through her jeans (amongst many other mozzie bites) we decided to up and leave the place, and went to this Art Gallery where Bel’s family also runs a restaurant. After the gallery, it was getting quite warm and sunny (I got burnt a bit), we went back to Bel’s place, picked up our stuff, and were driven to her Uncle’s place where we spent the rest of our time. Because there were 5 of us, plus Charlie making 6, and of course Bel’s mom was driving, There were 5 of us in the back, and we passed a police car, and since I was in the middle I had to more or less sink onto the floor. It was NOT comfortable.

Bel’s uncle’s place is actually more of a gaming house, because they don’t really have food but they have a pool table, table tennis, air hockey, huge TV (that was kinda broken), and I didn’t even go upstairs to see what was there. Anyway, there were 3 groups of people there: Us, Bel’s two smaller cousins, and a bunch of people who I think are also Bel’s cousin and his friends, all of them in their early 20’s or VERY late teens. We took the downstairs, and so we played Singstar and Guitar Hero. Except for some reason, the TV cut off the bottom of the screen, so we didn’t have the bits to show us when to press the button for GH, and we didn’t have any lyrics for Singstar. So after playing GH for a while, we turned on SIngstar, and since Bel had a lot of them we played many different ones. But without lyrics is actually kind of hard. Anyway, we sang a lot and the highlight is actually when Julia and Bel performed Hit Me Baby One More Time, and Julia kept on thinking the song is over but it wasn’t. Anyway, so basically, there was the line (and we sang like this) “My loneliness…is killin’ me (Van, Jen and I are screeching in the background) AND I…I must confess, I still believe (STILL BELIEVE) When I’m with you I lose my mind, gimme a siiiiiiiign (we did crazy vocal acrobatics here, and then we all screamed) HIT ME BABY ONE MORE TIME!”

And then Julia saw MCR’s Helena (sorry, My Chemical Romance) and she screamed “Ohmygosh I LOVE THIS SONG! I WANNA SING IT!” Then she tried to sing the first word “Gone…(or something)” But it was a low note so she said, “I can’t go that low.” Pause. “Goooooone” and she tried grunting it again. Then for most of the song, since she didn’t remember the lyrics and there weren’t lyrics for us to see, she “hrrrnnn” the entire way through.

After that, we went to an early dinner at Bel’s restaurant. They were all, free food we’ll give you free food so eat eat and order order and we were so damned full. We all had Lemon Lime Bitter (lol you) and then we ordered honey chicken, sweet and sour pork, fried rice, satay chicken skewers, milkshake for Julia and Bel, veggies…gar it was so much (we didn’t order all. I mean we ate them, we only ordered about 2. They just kept on giving us food) and then after dinner we were all like, slumping in our chairs full belly and everything. Then Bel’s like, “what do you want for dessert?” and we were all groaning, but in the end since they were giving us free food and it was rude to reject, we decided banana fritters, and then they gave us fried ice cream as well (my first time having it). So the banana fritters came in scoops, and of course so were the ice cream, and Jen was saying how “I love food in the shape of balls” or something similar and of course I choked and laughed.

Then, Julia and I decided to have a competition to see who can finish off the rest of their drink faster. I won, but that was only because Julia laughed and choked it up her nose. We talked a lot at dinner, just about random stuff, and Martinie calls me up ‘cos she’s bored, and Andrew wasn’t there (I asked her, why don’t you go be bored with Andrew? And she kind of “har-har”ed) and at after 8 when Bel’s shift ended, cos she had to work as well as eat, we went back to her uncle’s place.

We wanted to watch Borat but the case wouldn’t open (it was stupid) and it took one of the older guys to get it open with a knife. We started watching a bit of it, while everyone were taking turns to shower. Because the people before us went to the beach, the bathroom had sand on the floor, and it was so icky to stand on it. We didn’t finish Borat (but we did get to the hotel scene where they were wrestling naked) and we started on Anchor Man. After Anchor Man (since we were pulling an all nighter we did a lot of movies) we watched Batman Begins so we knew the legend of his past. At that point it was just the 5 of us left, and we were all trying to keep each other awake. I never intended to stay up the entire time so
I copped a lot of “wake up calls” and Julia took a picture of me sleeping. Oh speaking of pictures, I didn’t take many photos, or as much as I’d’ve liked, because you weren’t there so there weren’t many times when people wanted to camwhore. In fact I don’t think they wanted to at all, just did it to be nice to me. We ate popcorn and Ferrero Rocher, amongst other stuff, such as the old stale chips the older guys left behind and wanted us to eat. They tasted like cardboard, and yet were so addictive.

After Batman Begins ended, we decided to watch the Dark Knight straight away. Remember, by that time we were closing in on 2 am, and Vania, in order to pull an all nighter, had to stay until 6 am (we were doing it for Vania because for her summer checklist one was to stay up all night). The Dark Knight involved a lot of Jen closing her eyes, me nudging her and her suddenly shouting “IM AWAKE IM AWAKE!” Julia started dozing at some point, or rather lying down so we thought she went to sleep, and so to wake her up I did something that…well you probably don’t want to know, and she wouldn’t want me to repeat. Julia kept on trying to steal Bel’s hairtie, and so Bel in the end gave up and just surrendered the hairtie. Then Julia whined, “It’s not fun if you just give it to me.” and I laughed and said “That’s what she said.”

When the Dark Knight finished we were all pretty quiet (not tired per se, but quiet). We decided, since it was around 4 am, to watch The Silence Of The Lambs, and that should propel us to 6. Except the movie wasn’t what I thought it would be like, and I couldn’t be bothered keeping up with the dialogue, so since Jen was already sleeping next to me, I decided to just nap too. It wasn’t easy because the movie was loud in some places, but yeah I managed to have some moments of sleep.

When Lambs ended, it was getting pretty bright outside and Bel wanted us to go out to see the sunrise. So I woke Jen up, and we went outside
with our PJs and Julia was freezing so she was wrapped up in a huge blanket, and we went outside to some benches that were on the side of an oval, just outside the house. We’d missed the actual sunrise by a few minutes, so the horizon was already dashed orange and pink. Jen went back before us, and we stayed a bit longer, and then went back in. Jen was already sleeping so we all lied down and napped. Bel and Julia went somewhere to get apples, and since I was half asleep when they came back I think Bel held up a bag and said, “I didn’t want to wash them individually so I just poured water into the bag and shook it.” At around 8:30 I got up, and Vania had changed, and Bel and Julia were back and dozing. I had a few whispers with Vania, and then she curled up a dozed in another couch, and I sat next to the sleeping Charlie (he’d somehow slept through half of Dark Knight and all of Lambs, and all the way after that) for a bit before being bored. I didn’t want to wake up anyone, and Jen was still pretty much knocked out so if I went back onto the mattress next to her I might wake her up, so I got dressed, grabbed my iPod, camera, jacket (because it was chilly, still) and I went outside for a walk. Went to a lake close by and took some pics, sat on a bench and warmed up, while listening to music and just thinking. Then I went back to where we watched the sunrise, and called Bee. I went back in at around 9:30, and everyone had woken up but no one came to get me (aww). Stuffed around a bit more, and then went to brunch at the restaurant in the art gallery. Jen brought her guitar so we listened as she tried to play Hey There Delilah, and I watched 3 hung-over looking Julia, Vania and Bel. We ate a big sausage breakfast and a big chicken and cashew salad, but a fly got onto the eggs so we had to get rid of a lot of the food in the breakfast plate. Then, since they were tired, they didn’t want to eat, and Jen was playing guitar, so I ended up eating most of the food, but that was alright since I was starving.

After brunch, we walked back to the house, and sat around a bit more, just playing with Charlie, before it was around 1 and we had to go. Packed bags, and were driven to the station. It was already pretty fucking hot by then, and so waited for the train, which then had something wrong with it and was delayed by 1/2 hour. Got on, said bye to Bel who had to stay behind to work, and away we went. 20 minutes into the ride we realized that our carriage had no aircon. And won’t for the rest of the trip. We saw Georgia and Hilary from our school there, which was a weird and random surprise. Julia and Vania dozed while Jen played guitar (she loved that thing) and I just sat there watching them. Vania woke, then Julia woke – I’m skimming over things. This was probably 90 minutes into the trip) and it got unbearably hot in our carriage. We moved into another carriage where next to us there were 2 boys and their mom, and one boy was named Orlando. We didn’t talk much, just fanned ourselves.

We got to Flinders at around half past 5, nearly an hour after we originally thought. I went to catch a train home but fucking Connex cancelled the 5:41 so I ended up on the 5:51.’

I can’t remember if I left out anything. But I did hit 2000 words. Vania, Jen, Julia, Bel, if I missed something funny that happened, remind me! Write it down in a comment or something.

Actually no I just remembered something. At dinner, Jen and I went to the toilet, and when we were in the cubicles, I said, referring to the night, “This is fun” and Jen kind of stuttered “Er, we’re in the toilets…”

De Fluffe, Out.

It’s April’s Day, Fools

First and foremost, happy birthday April!

So to start my day from the start.

I went to sleep at just past midnight, so I texted April happy birthday while I was awake. Then, at around half past 1 when I’ve more or less drifted off to sleep, CJ called me. I think I said something along the lines of, “Oh I didn’t realize I gave you your own ringtone.” (I didn’t, I just didn’t recognise The Getaway Plan in my half asleep state). She asked, “Oh wow did I just wake you up? Did you fall asleep already?” I croaked, “Yes?” And she said, “Awww”. Then, as my house’s reception always fails me, she cut out. Sorry about that.

After that I couldn’t sleep for ages, and I thought about calling her back but it would’ve just cut out again.

Got up and had an early shower, and realized that I would miss Phineas and Ferb. Took the train to the city by myself and half fell asleep and of course, my head jerked. Felt like an idiot.

I was about 10 minutes early so I waited for a bit and April showed up, followed closely by Dani and Andrew (from this point on referred to as Wutinie unless on an individual basis). I didn’t know Dani was coming so I asked, “What are you doing here?” She said, “What do you mean what am I doing here what do you think I’m doing here?” Then I realized she was there for April’s thing.

Few moments later, Jen arrived, and we waited for a few more minutes thinking some more people were coming. Called Vania. She wasn’t. So. We went and walked to QV to have an early lunch.

I told them the joke about, if you were named Dwayne, you wouldn’t want to have the last name Pipe. Andrew ordered an ice coffee with whipped cream and licked up all the whipped cream, and decided he didn’t want the coffee. I asked him why he didn’t just order a glass of whipped cream. It got us onto the topic of how on American sitcoms whenever someone had a bad breakup they’d start crying and eating whipped cream straight from the can. Anyway, a while later, Andrew was talking about, yet again, the size of Carmaine’s eyes. He asked me, “What I don’t get is, I’m saying her eyes are so small but whenever she takes pictures she always opens her eyes really wide like this:” And he did the O.O face. I asked him what was wrong with that? He said he didn’t know, just wondered why she did it. So I decided to pass it along. Then I remembered Carmaine isn’t going to be here for a week. So I put it up here.

As we were eating, I shared my dish with Wutinie, and Andrew was trying to eat a piece of chicken whole, and kind of mumbled something along the lines of, “Dammit I have a huge bone in my mouth and it won’t come out!” I sniggered, “That’s what she said.” And unfortunately it took Wutinie a few shameful seconds to figure it out. Then again, it took April ’til about the end of lunch to start laughing.

April and I ate a piece of lemon that was in my very sweet drink, so the lemon wasn’t too bad but I puckered anyway. Weeeak I know. After lunch we went to Dani’s apartment, and Lysh was there. We played Guitar Hero for a bit and then, since on the tram we were discussing Emily Rose, we watched a few videos on the exorcisms and true stories behind that movie. April got rather freaked out by Jennifer Carpenter’s voice when she was being exorcised (as was Bee ages ago) and her reactions reminded me of how funny watching Disturbia was with her. I mean, imagine someone who flinched and gasped at every moment that there was a sudden movement. Yeah, her.

Jen played with Lysh for a long time, and we watched as Lysh drew April’s face, complete with 2 moustaches, 2 dots for ears, a buzz cut, and 3 eyebrows, and a hole for a nose. Oh and a line joining the two eyes for glasses. Then the three of us – Jen, Lysh and I, that is – sang a few nursery rhymes “Jingle bell, jingle bell, joonda ah dah way!” And Lysh called me “Wee-wee”.

April left, then we left as well and it was rather difficult to leave Lysh behind because she wouldn’t let Dani go, so Dani hid in the toilet until Lysh thought she’d left, and then we covered while Dani snuck out of the apartment. You could hear Lysh crying “mommy” 2 floors down.

We went to South Melb Market, and Wutinie went into a pet store to get stuff for Slash and Kane. Outside the pet store were a basket of things labeled “Pig Ears $1.60” and I picked one up thinking it was one of those plastic toys for dogs to chew on. Then I took a closer look, and asked out loud to Jen, “Jen, are these real?” Then, as the truth dawned on me, I asked again, “Jen…Jen I think these are real pig ears, are they?” And well yeah, they were real dried pig ears, for dogs to chew on probably…but they were real. That wasn’t a nice moment. Holding a mummified pig ear in your hand.

Said bye to Wutinie, and took the tram back into the CBD. Took the train home by myself – stupid sun. I moved to get out of it and it freaking changed sides and shone on me again – and then was told to bus and walk home. I missed the bus by about 6 minutes, and the next bus was in an hour. So I took another bus which was a longer walk, and was quite cold because I wore a short sleeve and the wind had picked up. Parents were worried when I got home because it was late. Well, it’s a Saturday and busses aren’t frequent. So, don’t blame me.

Mom finally got a mobile. Have to help her set it up and…well teach her everything about it (it was my old one so I guess that helps). But the point is, she finally bloody got one.

I’ll be resting tomorrow, maybe touch some Maths, and then Monday I’m off to SALE! SALE! Not a bargain Sale. The place, Sale.

I hope it was an okay birthday celebration for April. I wish more people came, it was the same last year that no one came. I haven’t gotten her a gift yet so I’m still thinking, but I think I managed to whinge her into going to Sale with us. Happy birthday, again, April!
