Do You Dream I Would Be There?

[Through With You – Maroon 5]

Today I went to Steve’s place for a night of gaming. Brought my laptop to ‘lan’ and everything, but in the end everyone just played on the Wii.

When I got there, Swang was the only girl there, so I gave her someone to talk to. After a long while, Mandy arrived. There’s not really a point in recounting gaming except the highlights, like when we were playing that Raving Rabbids game, and in one of them it required some dancing, and Mandy decided to punch me in her enthusiasm to win.

In fact, both Mandy and Swang are very vocal gamers. Very grunty.

Had pizza for dinner, the traditional meal of teenagers. I was holding onto a stack of those plastic plates when Jacky ripped it out of my hands, and cut one of my fingers. YES I SHALL WHINGE ABOUT IT!

Met an incredibly cool girl called Gloria. We got along very well, very fast, because we both picked on Swang and her atrocious skills at Mariokart. It got to the point where Mandy, Gloria and myself would yell at Swang “LEFT, RIGHT, GO STRAIGHT” and the moment we stopped, Swang would crash into a wall.

I have never laughed so hard, I think, as I did today, as we were watching Swang trying to finish a race. In fact, the one race that she not only did not come 12th in, the one that she finished, the one where she actually beat someone else present in the living room, was one worth celebrating.

Anyway, that post was basically there to remind me of the memories of tonight, and not really to entertain you.

Alex.

P.S., thought for today: it is one of the most irksome feelings when you get home after a huge night out laughing heaps and talking to people and generally trying to impress people, and you realize you had a small piece of noticeable food lodged between your front teeth. I wish someone would just tell me earlier on in the night, instead of me going home feeling like I was pretty awesome and instead find a bit of food stuck in my teeth.

P.P.S., today was actually my 100th Project 365. Pretty awesome huh? I forgot to take a picture with Mandy.

P.P.P.S., speaking of Mandy; while the hoodie she gave me is insanely comfy, it sheds like a dying cat.

All Hopes I Had Become Surreal

[My Heroine – Silverstein]

Today was my first official day at Melbourne. And, actually, you know what? Today was the first day of Autumn; that means that Summer has ended. I need to update my Summer playlist, and also it means that I’ll stop posting lyrical headings. This will thus be the end.

I think a lot of songs I REALLY WANTED TO USE didn’t get posted on. Well. Too bad. Perhaps I’ll do a Winter title thing as well.

Alright, to cut a long and obviously predictable story short: Yes Uni was pretty good. Lectures haven’t kicked in yet. There WAS one subject which reduced me to dozing, so I actually just changed out of it to something hopefully better EXCEPT I need to get it confirmed and get my timetables done. I hope I don’t get crappy times. I still get Tuesdays off. The food was expensive in Union House so I will start doing packed lunches. I’ll get a Union member friend to go heat it up for me.

Points of interest for today:

1) Josh and Annie are in the same lectures and breaks with me for the first 3 hours.

2) I am actually very excited about doing Professional Writing, even though a lot of the styles will be out of my comfort zone. But I think the Tutes will definitely help.

3) Seeing Zhen (3rd year student and friend) and saying hi to him at the cafeteria actually makes me feel really cool because I know a 3rd year.

4) The Norwegian guy I was talking about is also in my Professional Writing class. I really hope he never finds this blog or he’ll think I’m a complete freak.

5) Josh does not hesitate to tell disgusting stories while I eat.

6) Anna is very gullible. This I’ll go into detail soon.

7) I FINALLY MET SNEAKS!!! I FINALLY MET CHERYL! AFTER GOD KNOWS HOW LONG I ACTUALLY MET HER AND SHE IS RIDICULOUSLY TALL.

Alright, so Cheryl first. She’s doing Uni classes this year, so, because today I was going to stay back a bit to have dinner with Josh, Annie and Anna, I met up with her. This was the first time we ever did this.

I waited with her outside her room, and I swear, when she gets nervous she says the oddest things. CHERYL! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?! But actually, it was so good to tall to her in person, and be dwarfed, literally, by her presence.

After that, I went to dinner at Red Silks with the other three.

I think I haven’t laughed that hard or frequently through a meal in ages.

Somehow we managed to convince Anna that the bottle of water she was pouring from is actually pure tequila. We pretended to down the “tequila” with some effort, while she obviously effortlessly chugged it down. She got rather worried that she had “alcohol” without knowing it. It went on for nearly 10 minutes of us just half pissing ourselves laughing.

At the end of the meal, and I swear this happened, I told her that “gullible is written on the ceiling”…AND SHE LOOKED! Man, the fact that she took all of this in good humor and still laughed and had fun with us, that is a sign of a truly awesome person.

We also, for some reason (which I think was mostly Mai), had a huge conversation about cleavages. I remarked that it is awkward for me to hug friends above a certain height, because it means my face is level with some awkward – albeit comfortable – cushioning. Annie asked, “well why don’t you turn your head to the side?” I replied, “I ALREADY DO?! What, do you think I currently hug people by burying my face in their chest?! NO!”

And then, and I can’t remember why, I started singing “Do your ears hang low, do they sway to and fro?” I think it’s because Josh said, “You can just throw [your breasts] over your shoulder when you hug someone.” And, if I recall correctly, the song goes, “Do you throw them over your shoulders like a marching band soldier?”

Alright, so, I think I may have laughed too much today because I read back on what I wrote, and not only does it sound insanely immature, it also sounds a bit high. So I’m sorry if it was tedious to read, but there you go.

I have tomorrow off, to do my subjects. My books, however, are a worry.

So, I bid you my reader, welcome to Autumn. If you also started Uni today, I wish you the best for the future, and I hope you didn’t get TOO ripped off by the expensive food today.

Alex.

Insert Witty Title Here

Well, hey, I’m amazing but my awesomeness runs out at some point.

I don’t know why I thought I would do homework this morning. I should…but I can’t seem to find the…ceebness. I still have tomorrow morning a bit, and also tomorrow evening.

Anyway, I was going to write an extremely long blog about yesterday. But firstly, that takes too long and my fingers are cold, and secondly, I can’t recall a lot. NO Not because I got drunk, I know that what you all thought, but simply because all the good moments got smooshed together.

In a nutshell, yesterday was my last day as a kid. Carmaine and I (and Nat, but I spent most of the day with the Carminator) went to SonJ’s lunch at La Porchetta’s near QV Market. Dom came along, and so did Jen and ASH (met him met him. And he reads this. So HI ASH!) and Jack was there too.

Nat and Emily got lost. Yeah. Trust? Yeah…

April went with a guy called Si. Apparently I wasn’t meant to ask about him. He blogrolled me so…hi?

We ate, and we chatted and had heaps of fun. I owned Carmaine in iPhone hockey. Then, as SonJ was cutting the cake, she got me to go up. I don’t know why I didn’t tweak because the next thing I knew she got everyone to sing happy birthday to me too. How embarrassing.

Carmaine wanted a picture of Bel and Julia (it’s weird, but I think it’s best if I start phasing out Julinda now…yeah a variety of reasons but mostly because they don’t like it). They wouldn’t co-operate. So Carmaine calls out “JULINDA!”

Julia turned around. “Yea-DAMMIT!”

That happened again later on. I said if she responds to it 3 times it’s official. But she didn’t respond to it the third time.

We left at around 3 because Bianca was at Melb Central waiting for us. The four of us (Nat included, sorry) took the train back, and of course we talked about the formal. Ehh.

Excellent call of the morning? Dom was eating something and said “I was going to spit it out but then I swallowed it.” I followed with, “that’s what she said.”

WIN!

After that, I went home for a bit until it was time to go to Korean BBQ which I booked under Bee’s name. The boss got confused when my parents came to pay. They thought Bee was their daughter. And that wouldn’t make sense. Bee’s Goan. I’m Chinese. Even if you don’t know what Goan is it’s not Chinese at all.

Picked Bee up from her place. Got to the restaurant and we got the Karaoke room for freeeee! Four Seasons at Glen Waverley is AWESOME! Bee and I tried to figure out how to turn the machine on, pressing all the buttons (oh and before I forget. Carmaine says later “I like pushing your buttons.” I asked her if she knew what it meant. Her expression said no.) until the boss came up and told us the thing wasn’t on at the power switch.

Eunice arrived. She looked stunning yesterday. Did something special with her hair I think, and WOO! What a stunner. Yes I’m trying to embarrass you.

Annie arrived after yelling at me over the phone because SHE GOT THE ADDRESS WRONG AND NOT ME.

Charlie was downstairs, and I forgot to tell Annie that because she skitzed, wanting to see Charlie. I know that sounds a bit iffy. Whatever. I don’t take responsibilities after the way Annie yelled at me to go downstairs with her to see Charlie.

Fel arrived after that, and rather flamboyantly hugged me happy birthday. I pulled the trump card on her when I wanted something a certain way and she didn’t, and it was my birthday (the next day) so I won.

Carmaine was late by 20 minutes. I had to say it, sorry! Not that I minded. It’s a thing that you do now. It’s your thing.

Carmaine had her fringe all pinned up. I suppose to see it you’d have to go on Facebook when she has uploaded all her pictures.

Now, Carmaine also knew Charlie was downstairs, and at some point early on she thought Charlie had walked past our room to the bathroom. She proceeded to wait outside the bathroom to say hi to him. After 10 minutes she realized/decided the guy who walked past…wasn’t Charlie.

So we sang and we ate, and Eunice and Annie cooked most of the stuff. It was so good! Fel and Eunice did an amazing harmony duet to “I Believe I Can Fly” and Bee and Fel sang the Titanic song twice.

Eunice and I belted out “Dont’ Wanna Miss A Thing” at the end of the night. The restaurant was closing down and we were still singing. Mom and dad got annoyed waiting.

I now have a jacket and a shirt that smells beautifully of meat and kimchi.

Call of the night:

While singing Beyonce, Carmaine said to Bee, “Bee you sing it. You’re black!”

WIN!

Went to sleep, and when I kept on being woken up by well-wishers around midnight, I put my phone on silent.

Today I’m off to Jenny’s 18th. I think the irony is pretty obvious but I couldn’t care less. I’m going to have a lot of fun, dammit.

New Year’s Resolution

Alright since it’s been mentioned thrice in just as many days, I think I should talk about it.

My resolution last year – or this year, whatever, 2008 – was, if I recall properly because I remember telling Carmaine and Eunice about it at Knox when we went to see P.S. I Love You, to be a better friend and open up channels of communication.

Personally, as in on a personal solitary level, I think I actually achieved both of them really well. I’ve had good talks with people, and I’ve found more about myself and so knew what I can offer as a friend.

I mean, I can think of one instance later in the year when communication wasn’t so great, not on a personal level but as in making sure outside communications are good. But. Again, it all worked out.

The strange thing is, I don’t know what this year’s resolution is going to be. I want to say “do so well in school that I weed out all unforced B’s and B+’s”, but I think that that’s a pretty bad resolution to have, seeing as it shouldn’t take a NYR to make me want to do well in Yr 12. I want to say, “finally kiss someone” but I’ve received such a response to the “flower” post that again, it’s not in my best interest to. But I honestly don’t see a resolution, unless I want to do the “get my weight back down to 45-46 kilos”. Or “give some sort of ending to the vampire story” or the usual love crap like “make sure I make every member of BRuCE laugh really hard at least once a day”. But 356×3 laughs are a large number of laughs.

Ahh, someone help me.

De Fluffe, Out.

P.S. Maybe “quit smoking”? I need to take it up first.

Happy Birthday Part 2

It was a great day, and you looked stunning! The dress that you made yourself was really good, and the overall day was fantastic. Everyone laughed, and I know that everyone had a good time.

It was sunny, it was cool, there was Wii, there was a mass orgy in your bedroom (haha!), there was great food, we had some good jokes, and you smiled a lot which meant you had FUN! You took lots of pictures, everyone took lots of pictures, I got punched in the face, I got sat on (I didn’t mind, despite my loud protests), and I had a good laugh at everyone’s expense (especially D.P., that girl cracks me up).

So, once again, happy 17th birthday dearest Carmaine! I’m sad to think now that the next time I see you may be the last for this year (because on the 31st clearly you’ll be doing something with your family, and then it’ll be 2009).

Love,

Lex.
