I’m done with meth!!

Ah I love having suggestive puns in my titles.

No, I am not a meth-head. I am merely finished with all my Methods SACs forever. And I didn’t find it too hard which was pleasing. But I’m going to be a humble bumble bee and stop at: I did well.

I also had a really fun lunchtime. We were just sitting around, me eating a lovely passionfruit yoghurt and wedges that actually had potatoes in them. We were just joking around and I recounted this old blonde joke.

Three people, a brunette, a red-head and a blonde, were running away from a guy, and they hid in three separate sacks.

The guy caught up to them and saw the sacks. To make sure, he kicked the first sack which had the brunette. The brunette said, “miaow!” So the guy thought, right that’s a cat, and walked on. He kicked the sack with the red-head.

“Woof!” cried the brunette. Right, thought the guy, a dog.

He then went to the sack with the blonde and kicked it. The blonde, seeing what was done before, knew exactly what to say.

“Potatoes.”

Tiff laughed, then hauled ass for the bathroom. I was concerned.

Later, in class. We all got into a Glee frenzy. ‘Nuff said.

Bee was very stressed about Methods and I tried to cheer her up. I don’t think I did well.

At the bus stop I made the noob mistake of standing at the wrong stop. I stood there for ten minutes trying to look cool and had to walk to the next stop as my bus pulled ahead.

Tomorrow I celebrate my last SAC ever. Legal.

It has been a good day.

Alex.

P.S. I spent period 2 with Julia in the library playing on the iTouch. That was good too.

Oh thank god it’s all over

I had my Methods SAC today, and after it’s finishing it meant I officiall have NOTHING DUE until first week back, which is my Chinese Detailed Studies. Arrgh I can do that later.

I got the job at Walter’s and Partners for the holidays, so I’m gonna be earning something, at least.

Today after Methods, Carmaine, Emily, Shaz and I went to JB Hi Fi so Carmaine could get her Sims2 stuff. We had a pretty fun train ride home just talking about random stuff that comes to our mind…formal included, apparently.

Now, I can go eat dinner without needing to think “oh okay it’s Monday. I want to watch TV at this time so I have to…”etc. I can just go watch TV now.

I feel like writing Chapter 4. Hmm. GNW or Chapter 4? I know what Sneaks will say.

Alex.

P.S. I bumped into Dot today! Uberly happy. I haven’t seen the girl in ages (so long I actually can’t remember when) and it was good to catch up. She hugged me when she saw me so it means she still likes me and I don’t look too scary. I want to catch up with so many people over the holidays but I don’t think I’ll be able to.

Looking ahead

What’s going on for good old Alex in the upcoming week? You know you want to know…(not really)

Monday: despite my very very early finish, I have to stay behind to do the stupid Methods SAC.

Tuesday: guitar lesson. I haven’t practiced “Apache” at all.

Wednesday: planning to go to a costume store after school to get pants and a jacket for Bee’s. It’s quite funny that I have the accessories, like suspenders, hats, etc, but I don’t actually have the really important part…the actual clothes.

Thursday: BIANCA’S BIRTHDAY! Clearly that’s going to take up my entire day. (Reading what I just wrote, I realized that the tone of my Thursday plan sounds exactly like Carmaine.)

Friday: last day of school. Hoo-bloody-RAY! Early finish, and the next day is Bee’s thing to look forward to.

Saturday: BEE’S THING! That sounds really…really dodgy. It’s in the evening so I think in the morning I’m going to go shopping for work pants. As in I need pants to work in. What the hell, why do I sound so strange today?

Sunday: Jack’s starts again. Oh well, no big loss. I sort of miss JessRusta and Pom. And my 2 hours with Spanna.

And after that, holidays start. I look forward to sleeping in, but then again a few days I’ll be working. Hmm. WORK!

I really am channeling Carmaine tonight.

Except I’m still short with a shit sense of fashion. You’d think I’d channel the good bits, but no.

Alex.

P.S. That was one of the worst and most boring posts I’ve ever written. Sorry!

Inevitable

Methods is actually rather enjoyable now that I’m in the same class with Carmaine and Shaz.

Well, I don’t remember much of Year 9 and 10 Methods anymore, but this year the three of us help each other and check answers with each other and it’s a rather friendly environment. But who am I to talk yet? We’ve only done Graphs so far. Wait ’til we get to Differenciation and Logarithm! Death.

Anyway, today in Methods while we were working, Carmaine and I listened to Inevitable by Anberlin over and over again. Thus I have done my bit to explain my title.

I wanna break every clock,

The hands of time could never move again.

We could stay in this moment (stay in this moment)

For the rest of our lives.

Is it over now, hey, hey is it over now?

I wanna be your last first kiss

That you’ll ever have.

Had a rather fun double free this morning. In P1 Dani brought in a huge 2L bottle of milk, labelled it for herself, and upon my questioning said that all her friends are welcome to it. Then in P2 Eunice came in and sat with us in the Common Room and we played some CDs and In The Summertime by Thirsty Merc came on so we both started singing loudly to it.

I don’t have a job,

I never liked them.

I just wanna play in the sunshine.

They say I was wrong,

But I know better!

I live my life like I’m dying.

Gimme a chance,

I’ll do my best to kick and scream and dance

When winter comes I’ll turn around…

So take me back to the

Sweet times, the happy nights,

Everything’s gonna be alright

In the Summertime,

Baby in the Summertime!

Last year, the only thing that cheered me up somewhat when I realized summer was coming was the thought that on a really hot day, and when I’m with Eunice, we can sing In The Summertime!

Keep Cool (just keep swimmin’ just keep swimmin’)

P.S. Carmaine and Eunice both ran for their Form Captain today, as well as Ca-, so let’s see who gets it. I helped Carmaine a bit with her speech, and we randomly put songs in and Carmaine put in Katy Perry’s “I Kissed A Girl” but instead she kissed 12A and she liked it. In a dream she had.

Take Off

So today was also a pretty fresh day, in terms of getting into the swing of Year 12.

I had a double free in the morning, and decided to tackle that reading for Legal. It was about the freaking Parliamentary system and its historical links with the Westminster system from Britain and what the houses represent and all that junk. I sucked it up and read it all, trying to remember the little details (76 seats in the upper house, which is the Senate, and 120 in the lower, House of Rep. In the Senate there is 12 seats from each state, 2 from each territory. NT was looking into becoming a state but the voters rejected the idea. It took 87 years for Australia to finally start veering away from the British government system.  See I do fucking remember it). I thought to myself, even though that was rather boring, when it gets to criminal law it’ll pick up. I can actually do this. I can actually read this!

Then I had double methods with the new Romanian teacher. Sat in the back with Carmaine. In a way we were both glad we had extra outside tutors because her accent was thick and she did the work slowly. But then again Absolute Functions (Modulus) isn’t exactly heart-racing Maths – assuming there is such a thing.

I received a shitthick booklet for Eng Lang. With all the reading in it for the year.

When Chinese starts, I’m going to assume that if I want to do really well I’m gonna have a slightly hard time staying on top of things. But the one thing I take pride in is my ability to work in solid blocks of hours and finish the work in a rather high standard.

April whacked me in the face today.

And that’s about it.

Keep Cool (and the environment healthy because my Eng Lang class alone probably killed off a good half of an ex-rainforest somewhere),

“Prostitutes…I call them street babes”

Today I went to Jack’s tutoring in Springvale, for Methods. His thing is ran from his garage (it’s air conditioned with blinds and floor tiles and tables and shiz).

He’s a funny guy, Jack. He started off his class by telling us not to look at our girlfriends/boyfriends, or talk to them. We can sit in their laps but we can’t talk to them. As long as we do our work. He explains that he doesn’t talk very fast, unlike what people think gay people do. He pointed at his tie, which was pink. “Pink’s gay, right?” And when we got to a question g, he said “I like g. G is for gay.” Unfortunately five minutes later he had to explain that he wasn’t gay, he just liked making jokes about gay people. Most of the class went “ohh” because we thought he was serious.

He started telling us about how on St Kilda beach, if you drive into the smaller streets, there’re prostitutes everywhere. He taught us to keep driving straight and not honk them because then they’d just hook onto you. Same deal with Kings Cross in Sydney. He said for you to just keep walking straight ahead. He had to, since he was there with his parents.

At some point, he was trying to help us identify if a point is a cut, a turning point or a point of inflection. He said “I’m going to use my finger now. Can you see my finger? Everyone, follow my finger. I use all the different parts of my body when I teach maths. When I point, it’s finger-technique. When I write, it’s hand-technique. When I speak, it’s oral-technique.” Then he raised two fingers, like you would when you mimick a gun except no thumb (to put crudely, like you would when you’re fingering a certain somewhere) and said, “These are very important tools.”

He told us about how he used to have an ex-girlfriend but she broke up with him. So he has a photo of her and that’s all he needs to be happy. The other day him and his mates went to have a beer and their mates were with their wives and he was with his photo. His mates called him weird. His wife also calls him weird. I was just about to say out loud “Because you worship a photo of your ex-girlfriend?”

He told us to work hard in Year 12. He asked us, “Why should you work hard in Year 12?” and then promptly answered himself, “So you don’t end up living in Springvale.” “If you work hard in Year 12, you can have all the babes you want in university.” Wise words from a wise – and odd – man.

Keep Cool (and out of Springvale – not a stab at people living there but hey, what are we all working towards?)

BULLFUCK!

It was a long day yesterday. And I LOVED IT!

And hooray, for having something to write about.

The day started with my walking to the bus stop, despite my mom’s invitation to drive me to the train station. I didn’t want to be in a car with her telling me and lecturing me about next year. The walk is much much better.

I arrived at school half an hour earlier than I’d planned, mostly due to funny bus times and extra trains (who would’ve thought Connex actually had more trains than before?) and went on my man-hunt for Jess-with-my-money-for-Jap-books. Got Julia to advertise and sell a couple of my books, and walked around with Nug trying to find said Jess. Found her in the gym. Got my money. Hoo-ah.

Sat with Carmaine and L- (okay, so she has 2 letters in her name so I had to censor it like that) in Methods orientation, then Julia Yr 10 joined me on my other side. Realized how thoroughly I need to revise over the holidays if I wanted to catch up, seeing as freakin’ Julia was smarter than me (I maintain that I will be the dumb Yr 12 and she the smart Yr 11). Saw Bee and other Peer Support people afterwards, and hung out with them. Sang happy birthday 3 times. Okay but I won’t go into detail as the day was long, and Bee is waiting to read what happened in the evening.

In singing rehearsals, I sat with Dani and April and Liz, and D.P. was in front of me. Endearing Brute kept on stopping after every song – technically, just before every song, which drove us mad because we were all taking a breath to start the next son when she stopped us – and we were all chattering when Endearing Brute screamed “SILENCE!” True to our nature, Dani and I both shrieked (softly) “I KILL YOU!” April rolled her eyes and Miss Har- who was standing next to us looked thoroughly confused, but not angry. I don’t think she likes Endearing Brute very much.

Mumbled our way through Gaudeamus and Vale, then it was OUT TIME! After an impatient wait, a few of us went to Dani’s apartment, to start preparing for the BBQ. But, of course, the kittens were there. Who cares about a BBQ when you’ve got tiny curious kittens trying to eat your stockings? D.P. had a cat stuck on her stockings and pull as she might, she can’t get the cat off. Poor kitten was in the Superman position, absolutely refusing to let go of its prized possession. I had to go in and pry the fibre off its claw. Diep had 3 kittens at the most crawling around her, and Andrew had one on his bum. He tried to shake it off but we all screamed at him to stop. Apparently the kitten was more important than Andrew not having his bum scratched out.

Finally we went down to start cooking for the BBQ. Soph, Fra- and Shaz arrived, as did two of Dani’s old friends. I had to leave after eating half a sausage to buy a text book from a Yr 12 – thus nearly completing my book requirements for next year – and so I walked all the way from Dani’s apartment back to the school, a good sold 20 minutes’ walk, then, when I’ve NEARLY made it back to Dani’s apartment, my dear Carmaine calls me from the school to pick her up. So I start walking back to the school, I find her – it was hard, for some reason – and we make it back to the apartment in time for her to take nearly 20 minutes to change, wrap Dani’s presents and for me to play with the kittens more. Dis- and Leanne were both there when I got back, as were Marco and Nat and a couple of other people. By the time we all went downstairs, the food was mostly gone, it was windy and cold, and I had some of Sonia’s boob cake (don’t ask, won’t tell). Actually, the boob cake was good.

After screaming out happy birthday for the 4th time that day, 2nd time to Dani, and eating the cake, watching the other Asians camwhore, cleaning up – something that only Andrew and Dani did, ha – we all went back upstairs, played with kittens (Eater tried to eat us. Car- was very much scared. She couldn’t go pee without making sure Eater was well clear) and then decided to head off for KBox – karaoke.

Somehow, we lost a bunch of people getting on the tram. By the time we got to KBox, only Dis, Soph, Andrew, Dani, D.P., Carmaine Diep and I were there. KBox was booked out (bastards) so we went to Party World. Party World wasn’t open and plus was too expensive (double bastards) and by that time Dani was very very very annoyed. We thought about watching James Bond but in the end, decided to go to an Asian grocery, buy a whole heap of food, and going back to Dani’s apartment to eat and watch DVD. Lost Dis- and D.P. along the way. We started watching The Bee Movie, but the sound file was not working so we watched Ghost Rider instead.

It was crap. Didn’t get it. Didn’t like it. All I remember is Andrew yelling “BULLFUCK!” in a particular scene. Carmaine retorted “Isn it usually ‘bullshit’?” and she looked at me for confirmation. Being engrossed in how J.B. was going to jump pver 30 trucks, it took me over 5 seconds to reply, “yeah that’s right.”

Speaking of Andrew vs Carmaine. Bee, you remember on the photoshoot day there were remarks about the size of both parties’ eyes made? Well last night it was taken to a whole NEW LEVEL. Andrew tried to integrate a “because your eyes are too small” joke about Carmaine in EVERY SINGLE SITUATION. Eg, Carmaine: “I want to kick him but I can’t because he’s attached to Dani.” Andrew: “It’s just ‘cos your eyes are too small you can’t tell the difference between Dani and me.”

Carmaine and I left Dani’s at around 10, much to my parents’ distaste. On our train there was a business-looking woman listening to loud doof-doof music on her leaky headphones. Needless to say, I started to bop to her music.

Slept at 12. The rained hard and long (Ha. Ha. Ha.) this morning and it was nice to be in bed listening to the pounding.

Carmaine and I both agreed that a day out is much better than a day in. Dani’s place is like a place of freedom, of fun, of independence. Go Dani!

And so concludes yesterday. Julia Yr 11 is going overseas tomorrow. Jen and the Jap crew had touched down in Japan yesterday. I’m not goin’ anywhere.

De Fluffe, Out.
