“But I want to see April DRUNK…!”

You know, I freaking hinted at a photography thing a while back, and unless I wasn’t screening my comments thoroughly (which doesn’t happen) no one bit. So I might as well talk about it here, now.

Granted, I cut my finger earlier today. Slow going.

I chose that line, which Vania said today, because it ties up the 2 things I want to talk about.

First, Sorrento.

Second, photoshoot and party!

It was a bit hectic today, but we finally got Sorrento finalized (actually there is one more step left before we can like solidly and contently be finalized). Now all we have is to pay the bonds, work out costs, transport, and be really really excited! Which I already am! Dec 1st to 4th,  three nights, 4 days, and 12 (hopefully) girls who have finished their high school exams. Yes, for those who are avid followers of my life (and laughs) and those around me, I will be away on the birthday of my beloved Carmaine, so I won’t be able to post a Happy Birthday post personally (I can do a timed post, which is still kinda cool).

(I just realized, upon reading back, that my wording has implied that hopefully the 12 people will be girls, but I’m not sure yet. What I meant was, hopefully there will be 12.)

Now, the way that this ties up with my title…April won’t be very happy that I write this, but, well, honey, you’ll be fine.

April had so bravely said that if we’re over-numbered, she’d be happy to be cut out. Vania immediately switched on her puppy face and shook her head no. “April! You have to come!” cried she.

“No, but I’m just saying if there are too many people…”

“BUT I WANT TO SEE APRIL DRUNK!”

And how does that tie in to the second part?

The 2nd BRuCE photoshoot is happening at a studio! Za-‘s dad is going away, and seeing as he’s a professional photographer, Za-‘s dad came equipped with a professional studio. Dani, of course, remains our beloved photographer.

(Now, I don’t know if I should blog about this 2nd part but I guess if this post suddenly disappears you’ll know why.)

After the photoshoot, it is planned that Za- throws a party. April is attending.

So when Vania did her puppy thing, and shouted her line, April said, “That’s okay, if I don’t come to Sorrento, just come to Za-‘s party and you’ll see.”

Well, I am intensely looking forward to these two occasions. So I will update on the status of Sorrento as it happens, and of the photoshoot assuming I can remember. Ha. No, jokes.

TAKE THE DOG!

I don’t want to feel obliged to blog about anything, because I feel like if I’m doing this like a chore, it would become homework. And what the fuck I gave myself homework?

So perhaps just a short post on what I did yesterday and today.

Yesterday was my 18th birthday. In the morning I got up, and decided to reply every Facebook birthday wish I get. Bad idea. I didn’t get any Legal homework done.

Went to Brandon Park (by the way, this has come up before. Brandon Park isn’t a PARK it’s a shopping centre) for lunch because Dad didn’t leave anything for me to eat and like hell I’m cooking canned soup on my birthday. So I had Maccas for lunch. Ew.

At 4, Mom dropped me off at Fel’s. Shaz proceeded to be 20 minutes late (you know, Carmaine…someone HAS to do it. I shouldn’t blame you solely.) so we were late setting off.

Driving to Jenny’s takes shitloads of time.

Jenny’s was incredibly fun. Jack and Dom sucked at Singstar. Mai raised the roof with “WOAH WE’RE HALFWAY THERE” and then we had food and more Singstar and then cake. Jenny got everyone to – deja vu? – sing happy birthday to me. Half the people there didn’t know me so that was quite interesting. When it came to “Happy birthday dear…” Mai decided to scream above everyone else “ALEX!” which made me laugh.

Got home past midnight. Fel was, and I have to admit, the last person to say Happy Birthday in person. Catherine was the last altogether.

Slept soundly through to 10 am. Was sort of late to leave to meet Catherine.

Met up with Catherine UCMC (it’s not catching on! DAMMIT) and we went to buy the tickets for The Proposal, and then went off to eat Nandos because she was craving it when her face was still blown up and she was sipping puree through a straw. I had the Extra Hot while she went for Lemon and Herbs and Ketchup. WEAK SHIT!

Had a fun chat while eating, and then went up to watch the movie.

Which is where the title comes in.

There was a scene when Sandra Bullock’s character was in the yard on the phone with a client. Ryan Reynold’s character’s family dog got out, and an eagle (they’re in Alaska) swooped in and took the dog. Sandra Bullock rescued the dog, but the eagle took her phone. Frantic, Sandra Bullock held up the dog and screamed “TAKE THE DOG! TAKE THE DOG!”. Ryan Reynold’s “family” was watching her from the kitchen window, thinking she was playing with the dog.

Well that was the end of my holidays. Work tomorrow. As in homework. Remember the Legal I didn’t do? Still haven’t done it.

Alex.

Looking ahead

What’s going on for good old Alex in the upcoming week? You know you want to know…(not really)

Monday: despite my very very early finish, I have to stay behind to do the stupid Methods SAC.

Tuesday: guitar lesson. I haven’t practiced “Apache” at all.

Wednesday: planning to go to a costume store after school to get pants and a jacket for Bee’s. It’s quite funny that I have the accessories, like suspenders, hats, etc, but I don’t actually have the really important part…the actual clothes.

Thursday: BIANCA’S BIRTHDAY! Clearly that’s going to take up my entire day. (Reading what I just wrote, I realized that the tone of my Thursday plan sounds exactly like Carmaine.)

Friday: last day of school. Hoo-bloody-RAY! Early finish, and the next day is Bee’s thing to look forward to.

Saturday: BEE’S THING! That sounds really…really dodgy. It’s in the evening so I think in the morning I’m going to go shopping for work pants. As in I need pants to work in. What the hell, why do I sound so strange today?

Sunday: Jack’s starts again. Oh well, no big loss. I sort of miss JessRusta and Pom. And my 2 hours with Spanna.

And after that, holidays start. I look forward to sleeping in, but then again a few days I’ll be working. Hmm. WORK!

I really am channeling Carmaine tonight.

Except I’m still short with a shit sense of fashion. You’d think I’d channel the good bits, but no.

Alex.

P.S. That was one of the worst and most boring posts I’ve ever written. Sorry!

Can’t Fight The Moonlight

Alright, so last night was probably one of the craziest and most fun nights I’ve had in a long time.

Fel turns 18 in May, but in the interest of mid-years and whatnot, Fel had her party yesterday, a month early.

It was a pink-themed party, so Bianca promised to bring me a scarf. (I did end up taking it off 20 mins into the party but hey I wore it) They’d booked the entire cafe section of Romanza, and when I arrived Fel and Bee were stringing up balloons and all that decoration. Gis- came a few moments later. So we went around blowing up heaps and heaps of balloons.

Fel had invited maybe 60 people last night so soon it got really busy as her church friends started showing up. And we had a few MacRob people too – including the Jewish ones – and everything started mingling a bit (but not too much). I met a few of Fel’s church friends who were very cool and fun – especially the 2 in the hot pink stockings who I don’t think stopped dancing.

Speaking of not stopping to dance, Bianca in her shimmering dress ground and swayed her way through most of the night, along to bad music (TAYLOR SWIFT GOT PUT ON! WTF?!). Everyone were having a blast, just dancing and laughing at Bekchie and Sha- at Singstar, being total douches. Actually they screamed so loudly that some of Fel’s asian friends kind of started swarming AWAY from them.

Anyway, at some point during the night the “dancefloor” (we moved chairs and tables aside) when Low by Flo Rida came on, and they – most of the MacRob girls and some Church ones – started having this “mosh circle” but they weren’t moshing the whole time. And then when the lyrics came “shorty got low low low” they of course went as low as they could on their heels. I told Carmaine to try but well we figured no one would notice the difference even if she did get low. The lyrics ARE, after all, “SHORTY got low”.

I made good friends with a girl called Claire from PLC (I may have spelt her name wrong) and also I got to talk to Priscilla again (again, I might have spelt it wrong).  We watched the dancers a lot because joining them would be succumbing to the insanity.

Fel’s birthday cake was HUGE! 12 pounds, and 18 candles (I would assume). Took her…what, 5 blows to take them out, and that was after we all belted Happy Birthday at the top out lungs and made Fel make a speech (in which she was “speechless”).

Are You Gonna Be My Girl was probably the most awesome moment cos everyone was dancing and screaming to that one, even me! (Okay, maybe it was only awesome to me because I partook in it but hey hey hey I was having buckets of fun).

Everyone looked stunning yesterday too (except I have to mention Shaz saying “Oh I’m not too worried about being under dressed because I figure I’d be more formal than Ruyi anyway). Fel was in pink…well duh. But I can’t describe except it was hot pink as was Eunice, and they matched.

I ended up going home rather late, and parents weren’t happy. But no amount of yelling could get my spirits down! One of the best nights for a long long long time (have I said that before?). Now I’m glad I still have my voice, and my neck hurts but I cracked it so s’all good.

18’s are fun. I look forward to more.

Alex.

If only…

If it weren’t for the extra NON-COMPULSORY Chinese homework, I would have just finished ALL of my holidays homework, bar printing out and sticking on.

I realized that I do homework and study better when my parents are NOT around to supervise. When they are around, I’d do maybe 3 maths questions before giving up and setting it aside. But today, they both went out to the city to meet a friend and celebrate Chinese New Year, and I went and finished 3 exercises in Maths without taking a single break (even to pee. That was a small mistake. I’ll pee next time).

Anyway, I’m just wondering on how to break it to them.

“I’m sorry, it’s not you, it’s me. Well, I guess it is you. But I don’t know why! I’m just as confused as you are.”

“We just can’t be together when studying is involved. I think it’s better for the both of us.”

“Look, I’m gonna be home late. I got a lot of studying to do. Don’t wait up.”

“I’m studying with someone else.”

Happy CNY to all you Asians, and Aussie Day to all you Aussies. I don’t know, either the shit can really go down with the racist things, or we might have one of the best CNY/AD ever because everyone would just be partying.

新年快乐

Aussie Aussie Aussie! Oi Oi Oi!

Yeah…

Keep Cool (and studying hard. All. Night. Long.)

Happy Birthday Part 2

It was a great day, and you looked stunning! The dress that you made yourself was really good, and the overall day was fantastic. Everyone laughed, and I know that everyone had a good time.

It was sunny, it was cool, there was Wii, there was a mass orgy in your bedroom (haha!), there was great food, we had some good jokes, and you smiled a lot which meant you had FUN! You took lots of pictures, everyone took lots of pictures, I got punched in the face, I got sat on (I didn’t mind, despite my loud protests), and I had a good laugh at everyone’s expense (especially D.P., that girl cracks me up).

So, once again, happy 17th birthday dearest Carmaine! I’m sad to think now that the next time I see you may be the last for this year (because on the 31st clearly you’ll be doing something with your family, and then it’ll be 2009).

Love,

Lex.

BULLFUCK!

It was a long day yesterday. And I LOVED IT!

And hooray, for having something to write about.

The day started with my walking to the bus stop, despite my mom’s invitation to drive me to the train station. I didn’t want to be in a car with her telling me and lecturing me about next year. The walk is much much better.

I arrived at school half an hour earlier than I’d planned, mostly due to funny bus times and extra trains (who would’ve thought Connex actually had more trains than before?) and went on my man-hunt for Jess-with-my-money-for-Jap-books. Got Julia to advertise and sell a couple of my books, and walked around with Nug trying to find said Jess. Found her in the gym. Got my money. Hoo-ah.

Sat with Carmaine and L- (okay, so she has 2 letters in her name so I had to censor it like that) in Methods orientation, then Julia Yr 10 joined me on my other side. Realized how thoroughly I need to revise over the holidays if I wanted to catch up, seeing as freakin’ Julia was smarter than me (I maintain that I will be the dumb Yr 12 and she the smart Yr 11). Saw Bee and other Peer Support people afterwards, and hung out with them. Sang happy birthday 3 times. Okay but I won’t go into detail as the day was long, and Bee is waiting to read what happened in the evening.

In singing rehearsals, I sat with Dani and April and Liz, and D.P. was in front of me. Endearing Brute kept on stopping after every song – technically, just before every song, which drove us mad because we were all taking a breath to start the next son when she stopped us – and we were all chattering when Endearing Brute screamed “SILENCE!” True to our nature, Dani and I both shrieked (softly) “I KILL YOU!” April rolled her eyes and Miss Har- who was standing next to us looked thoroughly confused, but not angry. I don’t think she likes Endearing Brute very much.

Mumbled our way through Gaudeamus and Vale, then it was OUT TIME! After an impatient wait, a few of us went to Dani’s apartment, to start preparing for the BBQ. But, of course, the kittens were there. Who cares about a BBQ when you’ve got tiny curious kittens trying to eat your stockings? D.P. had a cat stuck on her stockings and pull as she might, she can’t get the cat off. Poor kitten was in the Superman position, absolutely refusing to let go of its prized possession. I had to go in and pry the fibre off its claw. Diep had 3 kittens at the most crawling around her, and Andrew had one on his bum. He tried to shake it off but we all screamed at him to stop. Apparently the kitten was more important than Andrew not having his bum scratched out.

Finally we went down to start cooking for the BBQ. Soph, Fra- and Shaz arrived, as did two of Dani’s old friends. I had to leave after eating half a sausage to buy a text book from a Yr 12 – thus nearly completing my book requirements for next year – and so I walked all the way from Dani’s apartment back to the school, a good sold 20 minutes’ walk, then, when I’ve NEARLY made it back to Dani’s apartment, my dear Carmaine calls me from the school to pick her up. So I start walking back to the school, I find her – it was hard, for some reason – and we make it back to the apartment in time for her to take nearly 20 minutes to change, wrap Dani’s presents and for me to play with the kittens more. Dis- and Leanne were both there when I got back, as were Marco and Nat and a couple of other people. By the time we all went downstairs, the food was mostly gone, it was windy and cold, and I had some of Sonia’s boob cake (don’t ask, won’t tell). Actually, the boob cake was good.

After screaming out happy birthday for the 4th time that day, 2nd time to Dani, and eating the cake, watching the other Asians camwhore, cleaning up – something that only Andrew and Dani did, ha – we all went back upstairs, played with kittens (Eater tried to eat us. Car- was very much scared. She couldn’t go pee without making sure Eater was well clear) and then decided to head off for KBox – karaoke.

Somehow, we lost a bunch of people getting on the tram. By the time we got to KBox, only Dis, Soph, Andrew, Dani, D.P., Carmaine Diep and I were there. KBox was booked out (bastards) so we went to Party World. Party World wasn’t open and plus was too expensive (double bastards) and by that time Dani was very very very annoyed. We thought about watching James Bond but in the end, decided to go to an Asian grocery, buy a whole heap of food, and going back to Dani’s apartment to eat and watch DVD. Lost Dis- and D.P. along the way. We started watching The Bee Movie, but the sound file was not working so we watched Ghost Rider instead.

It was crap. Didn’t get it. Didn’t like it. All I remember is Andrew yelling “BULLFUCK!” in a particular scene. Carmaine retorted “Isn it usually ‘bullshit’?” and she looked at me for confirmation. Being engrossed in how J.B. was going to jump pver 30 trucks, it took me over 5 seconds to reply, “yeah that’s right.”

Speaking of Andrew vs Carmaine. Bee, you remember on the photoshoot day there were remarks about the size of both parties’ eyes made? Well last night it was taken to a whole NEW LEVEL. Andrew tried to integrate a “because your eyes are too small” joke about Carmaine in EVERY SINGLE SITUATION. Eg, Carmaine: “I want to kick him but I can’t because he’s attached to Dani.” Andrew: “It’s just ‘cos your eyes are too small you can’t tell the difference between Dani and me.”

Carmaine and I left Dani’s at around 10, much to my parents’ distaste. On our train there was a business-looking woman listening to loud doof-doof music on her leaky headphones. Needless to say, I started to bop to her music.

Slept at 12. The rained hard and long (Ha. Ha. Ha.) this morning and it was nice to be in bed listening to the pounding.

Carmaine and I both agreed that a day out is much better than a day in. Dani’s place is like a place of freedom, of fun, of independence. Go Dani!

And so concludes yesterday. Julia Yr 11 is going overseas tomorrow. Jen and the Jap crew had touched down in Japan yesterday. I’m not goin’ anywhere.

De Fluffe, Out.
